 infant formula milk powder and GMO
Today I got a call from a hunter who ask me if I am interested to join a very famous joint venture milk company based in Shenyang, Liaoning, who now have a lab manager position, manage 50~60 staff, reported to Quality Director, a Dutch. Annual salary is considerable.
Mentioned infant formula milk powder, actually first come to my head is not usea nitogen or melamine but GMO, which is only stayed on industry level not be attention by end customers yet. Mainly because customer don’t know about this sector, while in this industry, most of companies required all the ingredients of milk powder are Non-GMO. Most GMO risk of the ingredients is special plant oil, e.g. soybean oil, corn oil, refined high oleic sunflower oil and refined low erucic acid rapeseed oil etc. while question is that you can not judge the oil is GMO or not depending on the analysis technique because the refined procedure had destroyed product DNA seriously, there isn’t complete DNA in the final oils to extract for analysis. So some of good companies who introduced supply chain IP certification and management to achieve this aim. Such as COFCO ex-joy , Cargill Nantong, Qinhuangdao Kerry etc. who start from suppliers, segregation, traceability, sampling and analysis to avoid the contamination in production sector.
